Martin Luther King was a leading figure of the Civil Rights movement in the United States. He fought to improve the lives of African Americans who were treated as second-class citizens at the time. Using peaceful means, he led many protests to force change, including the 'March on Washington' where he made his famous 'I have a dream' speech.
